Lump charcoal burns hotter and cleaner than briquettes, the heat can be variable, but due to the LotusGrill fan system, you can manage your lump charcoal burn. A briquette is compressed and often mixed with foul chemicals, which we do not recommend experiencing over a BBQ. We recommend purchasing the LotusGrill Beechwood Charcoal for efficient and well-managed cook-ups.

You have a choice of filling your charcoal container or part filling it. This can affect the time it takes to get your charcoal burning hotter.
How to control the temperature of your charcoal grill?
When you purchase a LotusGrill Hood, it comes with a thermometer showing the temperature. As you adjust your Heat Regulator Switch either higher or lower, you will notice the temperature adjusting to your ideal cook temperature.

Assembly
How do I assemble my LotusGrill Portable BBQ?
When you purchase your LotusGrill® Portable BBQ, it will be preassembled. However, you do need to remove any protective packaging. Before your initial use, you will need to insert the batteries provided into the compartment on the base of the LotusGrill®. When you attach the grill section to the main body of the LotusGrill®, make sure that the loops are lined up with the side clips. Please note that you can cause damage if you try to fasten the grill to anywhere other than through the loops.
